History

Discovery channel was founded by John Hendricks and first launched on 17.06.1985. At that time, it was available only 12 hours per day. Now Discovery Channel is watched at 431 million homes in 170 countries.

Major projects

A multinational pay-TV network and flagship channel. Its initial content consisted of documentary TV programming about popular science, technology, and history. In the 2010s audience could watch reality television and pseudo-scientific shows (MythBusters, Unsolved History, and Best Evidence). Discovery has also released documentaries for families and children. Some of its most popular programs are How It's Made, Cash Cab, and Man vs. Wild. The channel also launched a radio station broadcasting audio records of favorite content.
