History

The story of the company begins in 1964 when Bill Bowerman, a coach from the University of Oregon and his former student Phil Knight founded “Blue Ribbon Sports". In 1971 it became Nike and got a famous swoosh logo created by design student Carolyn Davis for $35.

A small company, whose founder Knight tested the waters for his imported shoes and sold them out of his car, has grown into an international business:
